He’s just not that into you: Brand-Agency Edition.

Every week I get the same question from new connections on Linkedin; “What is it that you guys actually do?” To put it simply, we connect brands with like-minded agencies. Now it pains me to say that we are very similar to the dating industry- Yes it’s true, however, there’s a strong point of difference: we’re here to create long term relationships.

Let’s paint a picture with this analogy:

There are around over 1.5 million significant brands around the world, compared to around 550,000 agencies globally; now imagine you’re that one agency who struggles to get in front of the right brands for them to see that you are in fact, the one.

On the brand side, imagine you’ve been let down various times, you’ve been put on the back-burner, it feels like the flame is no longer lit, the relationship has run it’s course and now you’re stuck in a stale, boring commitment with your lead agency.

“Are you too afraid to let go in case you can’t find anyone better?”

Or is it that you’re too comfortable and they know you like no one else does so what’s the need to change? No one wants to get it wrong… no one wants to be the “Gigi”.

Like us humans when it comes to dating, the brand-agency world is no different. There is always someone better and more creative out there, the question is, are you willing to take the chance to find out who that is for your brand in 2020?

NO ONE WANTS TO BE IN A RELATIONSHIP THAT ISN’T RIGHT. IT’S NO DIFFERENT WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR BRAND’S AGENCY PARTNERS.

To all brand leaders who feel this way- If your agency doesn’t make your brand feel like the only brand in the world, then they’re just not that into you.
